Flame Laminating
Dal-Bac
has two of the few flame laminators West of the Mississippi. This
process uses a gas flame to burn the surface of polyurethane foams,
essentially creating its own adhesive to laminate goods to both
sides of the foam in a single pass. Some familiar examples might
be automotive headliners, house slippers, beverage can insulators
and eyeglass cases. We use several types of foam, including the
following:
- Clickable polyester foam, which is somewhat firm.
- Non-clickable polyester foam, which is softer. Over half of our laminations
use this foam.
- Edge-seal foam, which is even softer. When diecut, the edges of this foam
pinch down and seal together.
- Flame-retardant foams in several degrees of flame retardancy .
